Super Typhoon Reming! Not good.. NOT good.

After having been through Typhoon Milenyo (Xangsane) in Late september in the philippines - I am a concerned for my Filipino friends now that Super Typhoon Reming (Durian) is about 24 hours from making landfall in Virac, Catanduanes in the Philippines as well.

Apparently stronger, and more powerful than Milenyo, Reming is sure to bring about more devastation. Milenyo ITSELF was the most powerful since Super Typhoon Angela (Rosing) in 1995. This one's worse. So not a good year for Typhoons in the phillipines.

The current prognosis is:

Thursday morning:landfall over Catanduanes
Thursday afternoon:vicinity of Sipocot, Camarines Sur
Friday afternoon:130 kms west of Metro Manila
Saturday afternoon:390 kms west southwest of Iba, Zambales

For those of you who've never been through a Typhoon, pray that you never have to. It's NOT nice, and only leaves you gobsmacked in awe at mother nature. Very very powerful these things. Milenyo killed 197 in the Philippines, crossed the south china sea and Killed another 71 in Vietnam... :(

Chee Kit Teck Aun Pills to the rescue!/The Magic Wok!

Well, someone's given me those to take today, and I feel somewhat better after having taken two doses of those tiny brown bitter pellets. I don't know if there are any negative effects, but I can't complain for now :)

Just got word that the girls are putting on a dinner of me after London Sin Do VII at the Magic Wok on upper Richmond road West so my December 10th is fully accounted for :)

hurrah!! Sarah West's taste in food is always impeccable - and I have NO doubt her reputation is well deserved. I love London. Going there and catching up with my friends is always a good thing to do :)

p/s Unca Julio - don't worry, you can come by KUL next time. There's a plate of my famous premium fried rice with your name on it.

Oh dear oh dear.....

Looks like I've picked up a little stomach bug somewhere along the way. It's nicely festering in mah belly and causing a whole host of illnesses ..... I want to sleep early tonight. Shame then that I've probably got another restless night at home. See, i've got two guests in my home - Kiki and Joey (before you boys start going gaga, Kiki is about 10 inches tall, Joey may well be just under a foot). They're in my place for a while and the poor things weren't used to the surroundings - so they were howling a bit. They'll be fine tonight I think. (I hope) :p otherwise my sanity is at stake. (or whatever's left of it)

Why is it that heading towards 1U from Damansara Heights- there's this massive jam every day around 630pm - that doesn't abate till 830pm. Answers on a postcard please.

The day of many posts

Well boys and girls, i've got lots to say today.....

I think it's time I started doing more karaoke. You see, after that night's session - realised that Yelling at the top of your lungs is VERY cathartic. All you need is to choose songs with notes you can't POSSIBLY reach.... then start shrieking away when you get to those parts....
Needless to say, it burns more calories too! Wanna come join me when i go to redbox next? :)

SQTalk is LIVE and Googleable!

Well, it's been a breathtaking three weeks, but I'm glad to report that www.sqtalk.com is running fine.

For those of you who don't know, SQTalk is a collection of people who truly love flying with Singapore Airlines, and enjoy meeting up. It's also a place for people to seek recommendations on what to do in a given part of the world. It's a truly diverse group and we've got members from all over. I've made many friends there, and all are truly welcome.

My Aunty Estee

Just thought I'd write a little bit about my friend Estee. Oh gosh, I Love her to bits!

She's married to Kenny and they've got a lovely son Tim.
She used to be an SQ Girl (yes boys... she's gorgeous)
She's been named as one of Malaysia's most stylish women by the Malaysian Tatler.

But most of all she's such a lovely human being, and probably one of my best support pillars right now. I'm truly grateful :) xxxxxxxxxxx sweetie!

Connexion - Sadly missed

Just last night, i was having a chat on Yahoo messenger with unca CGK, and he was aboard NH6 going from Tokyo to Los Angeles. So he fired up his webcam and gave me a tour of the All Nippon Boeing 777-300ER New Style First Class cabin. This was all made possible of course, by connexion by boeing.

Sadly, connexion by boeing is being wound up on the 31st of December this year, so no more onboard internet past that date. Apparently it was never going to a viable proposition, so that's that.

I've found it a valuable companion over the many long and boring miles through the night. No amount of entertainment aboard can make time pass by like a skype/msn/yahoo connection to your loved ones and friends on the ground. I will miss it!

Bonjour! Off to Paris we go!

I'm off to Paris in a couple of weeks for a couple of days. See - Singapore Airlines has a new airplane, the new Boeing 777-300ER with nice shiny new seats.

I managed to get my self some tickets in Business as that seems to be the one with the most radical change over the current spacebeds. I like the spacebeds now, but this one's horizontal, and is 30 inches wide. Great for my little bum bum. :)

Once I arrive I'll connect to London, but not before meeting MANflyer, who'll take my plane back to Singapore. On the way back will fly with unca CGK and i look forward to that too :)

Will report and see how it goes. Can't wait.

Has it been THAT long?

I'm back. I think I am anyway. Was just reading my own blog earlier, and gosh - I was a lot more naive then! (mind you, we're going back to May 2005 here :) heh heh........

So anyway - last night was Karaoke night with Aunty Estee. Top notch fun, and I'm knackered!
